Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in ‘Badalta Jammu Kashmir’ conference in Mumbai today and shared the remarkably strong and resilient growth story of Jammu and Kashmir.

The conference was attended by various distinguished guests and prominent personalities, including Ram Naik, former Governor, Uttar Pradesh; Vinod Tawde, former minister in the Government of Maharashtra; member of parliament; Ministers, MLAs, former ministers and senior politicians.

Speaking on the transformational journey of the UT, Sinha said, J&K has emerged as one of the fastest growing Union Territories. The progress that the UT has made in the last three years has given new hope and confidence to the people. He said the pace of PMEGP, infrastructure development and completion of projects was never seen in the last three years.
“The accelerated pace of development, better socio-economic standards, phenomenal progress in all priority sectors, massive tourist inflow and industrial investment are testimony to a peaceful and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir,” the Lt Governor said.

He also highlighted the reforms initiated by the government to empower every section of the society and make all citizens, especially the youth, as agents of change and provide equal opportunities to the aspirational society.

The youth are writing the script for the bright future of Jammu and Kashmir. The Lt Governor said that the administration has taken several steps to accelerate economic growth and formulate supportive schemes and policies to meet the aspirations of our young population.

“We have removed difficulties in implementation of people-friendly governance, establishment of new businesses and industries. It is our responsibility to provide equal opportunities to all,” said the Lt Governor.

“Article 370 was the root cause of separatism, terrorism, nepotism, discrimination and corruption and kept J&K underdeveloped. After a break from three years back, it is embarking on a new growth journey,” he said.

He said that decisive and tough steps are being taken against the terror ecosystem and corruption.

“The world is changing. As the world’s largest democracy, India has emerged as a global economic powerhouse and achievements are motivating the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the nation and contribute to building a modern India.” Huh.

He said that with the setting up of an unprecedented 21,640 new manufacturing and service units and creation of over 1.70 lakh jobs, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program – PMEGP has emerged as the most powerful vehicle to contribute to the society.

Sinha also spoke on the revival and promotion of Jammu and Kashmir as a preferred film-shooting destination and its strong bond with the Mumbai film industry.

On this occasion, the distinguished guests and prominent speakers also shared their views on the transformational changes taking place in Jammu and Kashmir.
