Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Monday said that the government has so far recovered about Rs 1.25 lakh crore of black money and attached disproportionate assets worth Rs 4,600 crore.

“Good governance has many dimensions – first digital dimension, 45 crore Jan Dhan accounts start using digital technology, get 135 crore Aadhaar, once this structure is in place, direct benefits start going into people’s account Gone,” Vaishnav explained.

He also underlined other dimensions of good governance due to digitization. Vaishnav said, “While many countries are still struggling with their vaccination schedules, India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 216 crore vaccinations using a digital platform- CoWIN.”

The minister informed that around 125 crore farmers have also enrolled on the e-NAM (an electronic trading portal to link Agricultural Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) mandis to create a national market for agricultural commodities) platform.

The government has also bought goods worth about 3.5 lakh crores in a transparent manner. There has also been transparency in income tax assessment, refunds, auction, scam in coal spectrum and faceless assessment.

“Today, Rs 4.5 lakh crore has already been received from spectrum auctions from 2014 to 2022, which means a lot of corruption has been removed from the system. All that money is coming to the government.

“The same with benami assets worth Rs 4,300 crore, black money worth Rs 1,254 lakh crore seized, registration of 1.75 lakh shell companies cancelled,” he said.

He lauded the victory of the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections and the recent Gujarat Assembly elections as a result of the Prime Minister’s good governance.

“PM Modi has a very strong belief that good governance is very important for the development of the country and that the real benefits of the policies of the government reach the common man. He always compares good governance with shortcut politics and believes that the latter should not be taken as it is bad for the country, citizens and society whereas good governance is good for all of them,” Vaishnav said.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi always focuses on the execution of the planned projects. For this reason progress meeting is held every month. The trust of common people in the government has increased under the leadership of PM Modi.
