CBI raids IAS officer's house in Jammu

Today, the CBI booked a branch head of J&K Gramin Bank after its officials nabbed a man while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000 on his behalf to sanction a housing loan in Kathua district.

The spokesperson said that a complaint has been received from a person that the branch head Sanjay Kumar Sharma through a private person named Jatinder Kumar had received Rs 50,000 from him for processing and sanctioning a housing loan of Rs 20 lakh in favor of his father. was demanding.

Acting on the complaint, the spokesperson said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) laid a trap and caught the person taking Rs 20,000 as bribe installment.

A case has been registered against both the branch head and the arrested person and further investigation has been started.

The spokesman said that the premises of both the accused in Kathua were also being searched.

A 35-year-old man was found dead on Monday near Harmutta market in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.

The body was found around 7.30 am today and a police team recovered it and sent it to the sub-district hospital Mendhar for postmortem, news agency GNS quoted officials as saying.

A police officer who confirmed the discovery of the body has identified the deceased as Mohammad Rayaz alias Raju, son of Mohd Hussain Hajam of Harmutta Gursai.

Police said that action under 174 CrPC has been started at Gursai police station.
