JAMMU, NOVEMBER 21: A joint programme titled “Healthcare Executive Management Development Programme” has been organised by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu in collaboration with the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu and the Research Foundation of Hospital & Healthcare Administration (RFHHA) (HxMDP).
The programme was formally launched the other day at the Hotel Radisson Blu by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, and Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director of AIIMS Jammu.
The HxMDP is a residential programme that runs from November 20 to November 27, 2022. Top-tier medical professionals are among the 25 participants in the programme from throughout the nation.
Professor (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director of AIIMS Jammu, spoke at the event and said, “Medical administrators are frequently appointed to leadership roles by virtue of their expertise and eminence in clinical domains, but the need for the development of core competencies related to the administrative skills of their roles is most frequently overlooked.
Even though knowledge in the areas of human resources, legal and ethical concerns, equipment management, financial management, hospital operations, hospital performance, quality, and patient safety, among others, is necessary for the success of healthcare organisations and systems, formal management training is typically not a part of the career progression.
This programme is certain to address these needs, to upskill participants, and to contribute in some other way to the general advancement and development of healthcare.
