Lieutenant Governor reviewed the expansion of benefits under various social welfare schemes

Following the LG’s order to provide additional stipend to doctors and paramedical staff, intern doctors from Jammu and Kashmir have written to Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha seeking compensation for their work in hospitals.

LG recently issued a notice to doctors and paramedical staff about the incentives. Intern doctors were ignored in this. We contacted the Principal of GMC and he wrote a letter to the Governor’s office on 6 May. A second notice was issued on the 21st, in which the intern was again ignored. Dr. Tajjamul said

“These days interns examine the most covid patients. They come in direct contact with 24 * 7 patients while supervising the casualty or ward. she added

Dr. Tajjamul further stated that GMC Srinagar has 130+ interns, SKIMS has 90-100 interns and GMC as well as ASCOMS has 150-170 interns which can be easily absorbed in the incentive program by the administration.

“I don’t know why a big issue is being made. I agree that doctors are working hard but we are also dedicating hours of our duty to patients. We should also be considered for encouragement. “He said
