According to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, several projects are being carried out in Jammu to transform it into a popular tourist destination, including developing the Tawi riverfront and the city’s historical attractions.
Mehta also visited the locations of several projects being undertaken as part of the smart city initiative that are intended to improve the aesthetics and beauty of the city.
“By June 2023, Jammu will look much different. The city’s outlook is quickly evolving, and it is becoming more valuable in terms of its appeal to tourists “During his visit, the chief secretary made a statement.
He said that a number of ongoing and completed projects would give the city a significant facelift and make it a popular tourist destination.
Mehta ordered officials to provide visitors access to the renovated areas of the historic structures by the middle of December at the Mubarak Mandi, the former royal residence of the Dogra kings.
He instructed them to begin with the intricate cultural performances that represented Jammu’s rich history and traditions.
The chief secretary issued clear instructions during his visit to the Tawi Barrage and Riverfront to ensure the project’s prompt completion.
Additionally, he directed them to remove any building materials that had been dumped inside the facility. He instructed them to improve the surrounding landscape and remove any barriers or impediments erected during construction.
The Tawi Barrage and River Front were visited by the Chief Secretary, who issued strict instructions to complete the barrage by June 2019 and the first phase of Tawi River development by that date. When these construction projects are finished, he predicted, they will become the city’s top tourist attractions.
