Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha chaired a meeting at Raj Bhavan here today to review the expansion of benefits under various welfare schemes, in which he called upon the concerned authorities to make dedicated efforts to ensure 100% saturation of social security and beneficiary. -Focused schemes in Jammu and Kashmir.

While reviewing the coverage of eligible beneficiaries under the 55 flagship schemes implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, and the category-wise status of beneficiary-oriented schemes, the Lt. Governor expressed satisfaction over several welfare schemes reaching maximum saturation despite the Kovid epidemic. did.

The meeting was informed that Saubhagya, PM Ujjwala Yojna, Ujala, Mission Indradhanush, Social Security Scheme – Pension under NSAP and ISSS, PM Matru Vandana Yojana, Kisan Credit Card, PM Mudra Yojana, MGNREGA, Merit cum Means achieved 100% Has been done. Minority Scholarship, IDSRR-Scheme for Sheep Farm Units, DBT-LPG and National Youth Corps.

Minority pre-matric scholarship has increased by 391%, including 4,49,424 beneficiaries against the targeted 1,14,856. Minority post-matriculation also recorded outstanding numbers with a saturation of 287%, thus taking the number of beneficiaries to 53,403.

With a view to providing assistance to women in distress, the Lieutenant Governor directed the officials to ensure the functioning of “One Stop Centers for Women” in all districts, apart from observation centers, special and shelter homes for children, every Union Territory in District

The Lt. Governor asked the Social Welfare Department, Higher Education Department and School Education Department to ensure that every eligible child is covered under the respective scholarship without any discrimination.

It is our collective responsibility to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left behind. The Lt. Governor asked the officials to take comprehensive measures to reach every eligible beneficiary so that the maximum population can benefit, apart from making the welfare schemes conceived by the Central and Union Territory Government easy.

In the wake of the Kovid epidemic, while reviewing the implementation of various modules of education through broadcast, radio, online and community classrooms, the Lieutenant Governor directed the Department of Education to make the modules more interactive.

Focus on elementary and primary education in the curriculum to lay a strong foundation for the future, the Lieutenant Governor said.

During the meeting, the Lt. Governor detailed the progress made under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, social security schemes-pension, other social security schemes, schemes for students, schemes for farmers, skill development / entrepreneurship / subsidy, bank-linked schemes demanded. Schemes, schemes for social welfare and minority affairs (distributed to beneficiaries through approved institutions / NGOs / agencies).

Ms. Sheetal Nanda, Secretary, Government, Social Welfare Department informed the Chairman about the coverage of welfare schemes for the year 2020-21.

He reported that by March 31, 2021, about 3,47,405 beneficiaries were fortunately covered; The benefit of PM Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) reached 12,60,685 beneficiaries; 25,09,000 benefitted under PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY); 9,26,000 under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY); The PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) covers about 3,95,000 beneficiaries.

14,79,649 Golden Cards have been issued under Ayushman Bharat, in which 51.24 crores have been paid for settlement of bills; 134558 houses were sanctioned under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G); Under the Kisan Credit Card Scheme, 12,85,217 beneficiaries were covered, besides the benefit of PM Mudra Yojana was extended to 2.93 lakh people, it was reported.

In a circular issued by the department earlier this month, the government has ordered the concerned authorities to continue conducting online educational activities in government degree colleges in the summer zones of Jammu division.

The government said, “In the normal course of the academic calendar in government degree colleges of summer zones in Jammu division, from June to mid-July, the normal course of the academic calendar is declared for 45 days and the holiday coincides with the completion of the syllabus of all academic semesters, The government said.

The Higher Education Department has also said in a circular that the completion of course work for the ongoing semester has been affected due to disruption in normal academic activities due to COVID-19.

“It is thus imperative to cover the remaining syllabus so that the examinations are planned in the next two months and the resultant admissions in different semesters are on time,” it reads.

The government said that in view of the extraordinary circumstances and suspension of individual academic activities due to normal summer vacation, there will be no pause in online academic activities in government degree colleges of Jammu division.

“It is further ordered that the period from June-01-2021 to July-15-2021 in respect of professional employees of Government Degree Colleges of Jammu Division shall be deemed to be on duty with immediate effect,” the government said.
