Lt Governor Inaugurates Air Force Air Show 'Apne Sapne Ko Pankh Do'

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the Indian Air Force Air Show ‘Give Wings to Your Dreams’ as a part of the ongoing celebrations of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The fighter jets of IAF performed the perfect maneuver for the large crowd gathered at Dal Lake and SKICC lawns. IAF’s Surya Kiran Aerobatic Display Team displayed its formation flying prowess while Chinook helicopter also displayed its capability.

This is the first aerial demonstration of its kind organized by the Indian Air Force after a gap of 13 years in Srinagar.

Addressing the gathering at SKICC, the Lt Governor saluted the courage and valor of the IAF personnel and paid tributes to the Air Force martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

The Lt Governor said that the youth should take inspiration from our brave hearts and perform their social, moral duties with great responsibility and renew their resolve towards nation building.

He called upon the youth of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to join the Indian Air Force to give wings to their dreams.

The Lt Governor underlined the need to encourage young minds to innovate and take leadership in the field of technology. In addition to value based education; He said that financial, scientific and technical knowledge are the key drivers for moving ahead on the path of development.

Under the able guidance of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, we are preparing India to establish itself as a knowledge economy and prepare our youth to face the challenges of the future world, the Lt Governor said.

The Lt Governor said that apart from inculcating a sense of nationalism, peace and communal harmony, the air show has also introduced the youth of the region to the new technological advancements achieved by the Indian Air Force.

Describing the role of women in the socio-economic development of Jammu and Kashmir as essential, the Lieutenant Governor said that women empowerment will bring revolutionary changes in the society. He said that from education to entrepreneurship, we are creating a solid platform for them so that they can achieve new heights of success.

Our girls are setting an example in every field. Mawya Sudan, the first woman fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force (IAF) from Rajouri district, and Tahira Rehman from Rajouri, who has been selected as a flying officer in the IAF, inspire other young girls from Jammu and Kashmir to follow in her footsteps. are doing, the Lieutenant Governor inspected.

The Lieutenant Governor also congratulated the youth of Jammu and Kashmir who have qualified the UPSC Examination, 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor urged the people to supplement the efforts of the government to overcome environmental challenges and maintain the ecological balance, which is one of the main spirits of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Later, the Lieutenant Governor and other dignitaries visited the photo-exhibition depicting the history of the Indian Air Force organized to mark the occasion.

Aerial acrobatics by MiG-21 Bison, Su-30 MKI, Chinook and skydiving team Akash Ganga, and flypasts by Suryakiran Aerobatic Display Team, Paramotor Gliders, live performances of Air Force Band enthralled the audience.
