Passport Office Jammu Wins Best Performance Award

Jammu, Nov. 20: At the gala event of the Regional Passport Officer’s conference held in New Delhi from November 17 to 19, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) presented the Best Performance Award to RPO Jammu under the special category for achieving high standard Passport service delivery to the citizens during the year 2021–2022.

Informing this, ecstatic Sh Nishith Kumar Shil RPO Jammu stated that receiving the Passport Award is an enormous accomplishment, a morale booster, and the cherry on top.

It honours the Jammu Passport Officials’ commitment, distinguished service, and exceptional pro-citizen work. A government office in the public sector consistently strives for recognition like this. He credited his team and the officers at PO Jammu with everything. He congratulated all parties involved.

Shil expressed his satisfaction and emphasised that this distinction will significantly inspire his team and office to continue pursuing excellence in a proactive and pro-citizen manner.

“At our core, we are always a common citizen. We are entirely committed to working hard and providing them with services in a convenient, friendly, open, efficient, and effective manner, he said.

The RPO Jammu stated that moving the location of our Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) to a more suitable place with a bigger space is necessary in order to further improve corollary amenities, facilities, delivery mechanisms, procedural needs, enrich the experience of passport making, and deliver our services to the public in a more comfortable environment. Shil urged his staff and TCS partner to do this.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Anti-Narcotic Task Force (ANTF) detained three interstate drug dealers as part of its ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan campaign to end the issue of drug trafficking and seized a significant amount of illegal substance, up to 680 kg, from their possession.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), ANTF, Vinay Sharma, ANTF Jammu (a specialised unit to control the rising problem of narcotics) gained another victory today when it thwarted a plan to smuggle Poppy Straw in bulk worth lakhs of rupees by arresting three drug dealers.

“ANTF Jammu received a particular report that a truck (JK02AH-6695) driven by Javid Shah, a son of Mushtaq Hussain Shah of Kotdhara Rajouri, and co-driven by Abid Shah, a son of Fazal Shah of Kurhad Rajouri.

The truck is parked close to Transport Yard Narwal in Jammu, and the accused smugglers are leaving J&K UT.

A case FIR No. 17/2022 under the NDPS Act was registered at Police Station ANTF Jammu based on this information, according to SSP ANTF Sharma. The ANTF team then sprang into action and located the truck close to Try Ground Narwal.

The accused have been taken into custody in the current case, and the truck used in the commission of the crime has also been seized, he added. “During search of said vehicle, ANTF Team recovered 680 Kg of Poppy Straw,” the man said.

The Anti-Narcotics Task Force is looking into the front and back ends of this network, SSP ANTF Sharma added.

IIM Jammu, AIIMS Collaborate For Joint Programme On Healthcare Executive Management Development

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 21: A joint programme titled “Healthcare Executive Management Development Programme” has been organised by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu in collaboration with the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu and the Research Foundation of Hospital & Healthcare Administration (RFHHA) (HxMDP).

The programme was formally launched the other day at the Hotel Radisson Blu by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director of IIM Jammu, and Prof. (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director of AIIMS Jammu.

The HxMDP is a residential programme that runs from November 20 to November 27, 2022. Top-tier medical professionals are among the 25 participants in the programme from throughout the nation.

Professor (Dr.) Shakti Gupta, Director of AIIMS Jammu, spoke at the event and said, “Medical administrators are frequently appointed to leadership roles by virtue of their expertise and eminence in clinical domains, but the need for the development of core competencies related to the administrative skills of their roles is most frequently overlooked.

Even though knowledge in the areas of human resources, legal and ethical concerns, equipment management, financial management, hospital operations, hospital performance, quality, and patient safety, among others, is necessary for the success of healthcare organisations and systems, formal management training is typically not a part of the career progression.

This programme is certain to address these needs, to upskill participants, and to contribute in some other way to the general advancement and development of healthcare.

According to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, several projects are being carried out in Jammu to transform it into a popular tourist destination, including developing the Tawi riverfront and the city’s historical attractions.

Mehta also visited the locations of several projects being undertaken as part of the smart city initiative that are intended to improve the aesthetics and beauty of the city.

“By June 2023, Jammu will look much different. The city’s outlook is quickly evolving, and it is becoming more valuable in terms of its appeal to tourists “During his visit, the chief secretary made a statement.

He said that a number of ongoing and completed projects would give the city a significant facelift and make it a popular tourist destination.

Additionally, he directed them to remove any building materials that had been dumped inside the facility. He instructed them to improve the surrounding landscape and remove any barriers or impediments erected during construction.

The Tawi Barrage and River Front were visited by the Chief Secretary, who issued strict instructions to complete the barrage by June 2019 and the first phase of Tawi River development by that date. When these construction projects are finished, he predicted, they will become the city's top tourist attractions.

Mehta ordered officials to provide visitors access to the renovated areas of the historic structures by the middle of December at the Mubarak Mandi, the former royal residence of the Dogra kings.

He instructed them to begin with the intricate cultural performances that represented Jammu’s rich history and traditions.

The chief secretary issued clear instructions during his visit to the Tawi Barrage and Riverfront to ensure the project’s prompt completion.

Additionally, he directed them to remove any building materials that had been dumped inside the facility. He instructed them to improve the surrounding landscape and remove any barriers or impediments erected during construction.
