Situation in Jammu and Kashmir is improving rapidly: DGP

Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh today said that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is improving very fast and efforts are on to strengthen it further.

He was accompanied by ADGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh and ADGP (HQ) PHQ, MK Sinha, DGP was received by DIG Rajouri-Poonch Range, Dr Mohd Haseeb Mughal, SSP Poonch Sarohit Baskotra and other senior officers.

Addressing the police darbar, the DGP said that Poonch district is by and large terrorism free, for which he congratulated the police personnel, other security forces and the people of the area for their joint efforts. Pakistan and its agencies are constantly trying to revive the terror infrastructure here and want to keep alive anti-national activities in any form. Some people in the past have managed to cross the border and are in touch with their associates to revive the terror infrastructure here. We have to ensure that no space is given to anyone associated with terrorism.

The DGP said that J&K Police along with other security forces is working in a mission mode to ensure terrorism free J&K. He stressed on using technical as well as human resources to track down the terrorists who have managed to infiltrate. He also directed to monitor and keep a watch on the terror support system to ensure the ecosystem collapses. He said that several terror funding cases have been busted in the recent past, yet there are reports that some elements trying to raise funds for terror activities are constantly under the radar.

He said that Pak and its agencies are supplying drugs with the criminal intention of harming the young generation and raising funds for terror activities. He stressed on taking strict action against the elements involved in drug trade as this menace harms not only the individual but the entire society. The DGP also warned of strict action against any officer or official involved in or helping the drug trade.
