The series was created by Jesse Armstrong, who serves as showrunner, and stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin and Alan Ruck.

The synopsis of the fourth season reads:
The sale of media conglomerate Vestar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matson is now even closer. The prospect of this seismic sale stirs existential anger and family divisions among Roy as they speculate about what their life will look like once the deal is completed. A power struggle begins as the family weighs in on a future where their cultural and political weight is severely undermined.
The fourth season stars Matthew McFadden, Nicholas Braun, J. Smith-Cameron, Peter Friedman, David Rasche, Fischer Stevens, Hime Abbas, Justin Lupe, Scott Nicholson, Zoe Winters and Jenny Berlin will also be involved.
