Jammu, December 15: Traffic Police City Jammu organized a sensitization program on e-challaning at DPL Jammu.

The program was presided over by Vivek Gupta, DIG Traffic Jammu Range and Dr. Kaushal Kumar Sharma, SSP Traffic City Jammu; Raj Paul Singh Additional SP Traffic, City Jammu; Bikram Kumar, Dysp Traffic, City South Jammu; Neeraj Kumar DYSP Traffic, City Rural Jammu; Javed Iqbal, DySP Traffic North Jammu and Gauhar Ahmad, Inspector THO J&K, all DTIS/SO(TS) of Traffic City Jammu were also present in the programme.

At the beginning of the programme, SSP Kaushal Sharma informed the DIG Traffic Jammu about the functioning of Traffic Police City Jammu regarding e-challaning and other enforcement works as well as switching over to completely digital model e-challaning in coming days Gave information in

DIG Traffic briefed the officials and asked them to switch to e-challaning while carrying out enforcement duties. He said that e-challaning has been made fully operational and adequate number of e-challaning devices have also been provided to the traffic police who will wear body worn cameras while on duty.

The officer stressed on the proper use of electronic gadgets (e-challaning machines/body worn cameras) to get the desired results. He stressed that e-challaning mode is more transparent and quick disposal for the enforcement agency. He exhorted all the officers to be more dedicated and ensure 100 percent digital implementation of e-challan on regular basis and in close coordination with concerned SDPOs/SHOs in de-escalating the untoward situation at pressure points during peak hours during wedding season. SSP Kaushal Kumar Sharma also reviewed the individual work/performance of all challan officers and stressed on strict enforcement of traffic rules on the roads. The challaning officers were directed to regulate the traffic during peak hours and make all out efforts to ensure smooth flow of traffic in downtown Jammu.

He further directed all challaning officers to concentrate against all visible traffic violations especially over-speeding, drunken driving, stunt biking, to check repeat offenders so that their D/L Can recommend cancellation of concerned RTOS.
During the meeting THO J&K Inspector Gauhar Ahmed gave a detailed briefing to all the officers regarding handling of e-challaning machines.
