Ahead of its world premiere as the Fantasia International Film Festival’s opening night film later this month, a trailer for the new dystopian thriller has been released. polaris,
Narrated by director Casey Cartheau (sun at midnight) as “mad Max In the Arctic”, the film follows Sumi, a young girl raised by a polar bear, who embarks on a perilous journey across the frozen winter wasteland to avoid capture from a brutal hunting party.

Set against the harsh backdrop of a frozen wasteland in 2144, Sumi, a human child raised by Mama Polar Bear, escapes capture from a brutal Morad hunting party and ventures out into the vast winter landscape. When Sumi meets Frozen Girl, an unlikely friendship is formed and together they race ahead of vengeful hunters, the only guiding light Sumi knows is the Polaris Star.

Polaris will premiere on July 14 at the Fantasia International Film Festival.
