Able to provide special pension and scholarship to the families of Kovid victims

The Administrative Council (AC), chaired by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha here, approved financial relief to the families of Kovid victims through the Special Assistance Scheme for Kovid Moralities (SASCM / Saksham). The objective of this scheme is to ensure the maintenance of the families who have lost their sole earners.

Under the new scheme, the competent, surviving spouse and the eldest surviving member of the affected families will get a special monthly pension of Rs. 1000 through direct bank transfer (DBT), provided they are not receiving any pension otherwise under other schemes.

In addition, the scheme will also provide special scholarships to children who have lost their earning parents / siblings / guardians from COVID. Special scholarship will be paid every year at the rate of Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 40,000 through DBT for children up to 12th and higher education respectively.

The Administrative Council also approved the creation of a special cell in the Social Welfare Department to help the families of Kovid victims and to facilitate the expansion of benefits under various government schemes, including financial assistance for self-employment.

The said cell will comprise representatives of Director General, Women and Child Development, Director, Social Welfare Kashmir / Jammu, Mission Director, ICPS and Finance Department.

AC approves creation of IT posts for High Court

The Administrative Council (AC), headed by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, approved the proposal of the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs to create 19 posts for the computer section of the High Court.

The Administrative Council approved the creation of 3 posts of Assistant Registrar-I, 2 posts of Assistant Registrar-II, 4 posts of Section Officer, 4 posts of DEO and 6 posts of Computer Operator. The decision to strengthen technical human resources in the High Court is expected to give impetus to technical intervention in the administration of justice.

Mir market grid station will be upgraded

The Administrative Council (AC) headed by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha approved the proposal of the Power Development Department to increase the capacity of 220/132 KV Mir Bazar Grid Station from 320 MVA to 475 MVA at an estimated cost. Rupee. 29.92 crores.

Once the grid station is commissioned at new capacity, the power supply will improve manifold to meet the demands of the emerging consumer base, including industrial and commercial sectors. It will also improve reliability, distribution efficiency, voltage profile, defect reduction and voltage variations.

The Mir Bazaar grid station which was commissioned in 2011 with a connected grid capacity of around 390 MVA is currently supplying power to 4 districts of South Kashmir- Anantnag, Kulgam, Sopian and Pulwama.

Missing youth's body found after 40 days, relatives accused of murder

A 35-year-old man was found dead on Monday near Harmutta market in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.

The body was found around 7.30 am today and a police team recovered it and sent it to the sub-district hospital Mendhar for postmortem, news agency GNS quoted officials as saying.

A police officer who confirmed the discovery of the body has identified the deceased as Mohammad Rayaz alias Raju, son of Mohd Hussain Hajam of Harmutta Gursai.

Police said that action under 174 CrPC has been started at Gursai police station.

A grenade was hurled outside an army cantonment gate here, prompting the authorities to alert them, police said on Monday.
